Rough schedule for Doodlebug Week

Tuesday, Sept.12 Open the building around 10:00 to 10:30 and set up for show. Building will be secured each evening.

Wednesday, Sept.13 Building open 8:00 AM for arrivals and unloading. Wed. evening group meal at Grid Iron Restaurant.

Thursday, Sept. 14 Group ride to W.C. Financial for picture in front of digital sign around 10:00 to 10:30. Possible stop at Kendall Young Library for a tour of this one-of-a-kind facility, then return to fairgrounds.

Late afternoon approx. 4:30 to 5:00 PM ride to downtown for “music in the park” and display of Doodlebugs. We will return to the fairgrounds as a group before sunset. Group meal ladies choice

The Doodlebug Cafe will be serving lunch in the building Thursday, Friday & Saturday noon

Friday, Sept.15, 10:00 AM Group ride to the Bonebright Depot Museum for coffee and group picture. You will have time to explore the many exhibits before returning to the fairgrounds.

Around 1:00 PM group ride to the airport (appx 7 mile round trip) Group meal Ladies choice

Saturday, Sept.16, 9:00 to 9:30 AM Ride on the scenic Boone River Trail, an 11.4 mile round trip on a 10 ft. wide concrete walking and biking path. This will be the 5th year we have gotten permission to ride the entire length which will take us to Briggs Woods Park, the 1st county park in Iowa. We will stop on our way down for an eagle watch ( be sure to bring a camera). On our way out of the park we will stop at the Amphitheatre on the lake for cookies and coffee and another group picture. We will be back at the fairgrounds by around lunch time.

Approx. 2:00 PM Annual meeting followed by drawing for door prizes.

Saturday evening 6:30 PM Annual Banquet, $12.00 per person. The menu is pork loin and broasted chicken with all the trimmings. The final head count will be needed by Friday 10:00 AM. The dinner will be held in the same building that the show is in for your convenience.

The required liability insurance coverage for the reunion does not extend beyond the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT ANYONE PARTICIPATING IN THE VARIOUS RIDES CARRY THEIR OWN LIABILITY INSURANCE.
